Anyone filed their tax return yet?

I know the HMRC computers were meant to be "down" from the 2nd to 6th April but I saw on Twitter the first return was filed at 6:12. Was it anyone from here? Or will you be waiting until 11pm on 31st January 2012.

Far too early - who has all their invoices in and out by 6th April?

We have a few that we could do now - directors of ltd companies who have employment income and dividends, both of which we deal with - but far too busy with P35's!

Plus our software update only came through yesterday, think I'll give it a week or two!

Clearly having taken it down for 2 days for updates they are now having issues keeping it afloat. Fingers crossed it works today, I could do with actually using it!

According to the ICB website, they're not granting filing extensions either - which is helpful. I filed some P35's this morning but not used the Vat - are you having problems Jenny?

Nothing was working yesterday, and I couldn't file online using outside software either. Today so far I've only used CT and that worked ok so hopefully all their problems are resolved.

The HMRC warned everyone a month ago that the site would be down for upgrading. I told all my period ended 28/02 VAT clients that the returns had to be done by 01/04 at the beginning of March as incase after the upgrade to the HMRC site did not work!

I don't want to gloat - by all my P35's were done and submitted by 22/03/11. I did the March payslips on the 21st, and the following morning issued the P60's and then did the P35s etc.

I have just passed my first completed tax return to a client for approval today, having received missing bits (interest & dividends) this morning.
