Changing from Sage payroll to HMRC CD Rom
Permalink Closed

Hi there,

Does anyone know how easy or difficult it is to switch from using sage payroll to the HMRC Cd Rom? Our payroll is currently done by our accountants and we are thinking of doing it ourselves with the cd rom.

Hi Keri

It's not difficult at all, although you will have to enter the Employer and employees details from scratch.

The Basic PAYE tools are very easy to use, so it shouldn't be a problem.

I use the BASic PAYE tools all the time and find it very simple.

Hope that helps !

Yes - will need to enter from scratch but if only changing in this new tax year then not a massive job. Also, I don't think the HMRC payroll prints payslips if this would be a problem for you?

Thank you for your replies. I had forgotten you cant print payslips. It is a bit of a pain but I suppose we would sort out some other way.

One of my clients uses the CD Rom. You now download it from Business Link (HMRC no longer send out the CDs). It's easy to use. You will need to enter from beginning of tax year which shouldn't be a major problem as only M1 has been completed to date.

Re Payslips - I've made a template in Excel which calculates all the stuff usually on a payslip.
