I was just wondering, does anyone provide a service to individuals who are not self employed? For example, I have been approached by a friend and been asked if I would help them go through their personal finances and help them to budget/cut costs etc due to getting into financial trouble.
Does anyone offer this as a side line to their bookkeeping? Would it work, especially in a scenario like this where they are already in financial trouble so wouldn't be able to afford feed? Would it be covered under normal bookkeeping PII and MLR?
I had someone approach me for similar some months ago. Ultimately it never went ahead, but I did also question how I was going to get paid when they were clearly in a right mess. I think that there is a market out there, especially if you want to help people agree arrears payment plans etc with credit cards. If they were to approach a debt management company then they would be paying around £30 per month minimum as a fee to them for administering it.
I would assume that it would be covered by PII although you'd have to check with your insurer. And as long as you did the necessary then I wouldn't think that MLR would be a problem.
