using Sage Instant - selecting codes from nominal list for VAT
Permalink Closed

I am trying to select nominal codes 2201 2202 2200 through Modules - Nominal ledger, I thought I could get a list of all the nominal codes this way - then highlight these three and subsequently go into Journals and these nominal accounts would already be there.  However, the only way I can access codes is Nominal Ledger - Record and this is not the way to get all three codes up at the same time.  Would be grateful for some advice.  Many thanks.

You should be able to highlight the codes and click on journals and the codes will be listed.  Is the layout set to 'List' in the top right hand corner?

It lets me change the view in the lop R-H corner, but only to either 'Nominal ledger' which just has "Total Sales"....."Total Direct Exps"...etc; or to 'Nominal Area'.  I just don't know why it's not letting me see the long list of nominal codes so that I can highlight them ?  Thank you for your help anyway.

Under 'Nominal Ledger' (view) - Total current assets - it lists VAT liability; 2201 Purch Tax Control Account; 2202 VAT liability; 2204 manual adjustments; and total VAT liability.
Nominal Ledger - Total current liabilities - lists VAT liability; 2200 Sales Tax Control Account; 2202 VAT liability; 2204 manual adjustments and total VAT Liability

I'm certain that when i have done this before, I could simply go to an ordinary nominal ledger list and highlight the relevant codes though. Why it's not letting me this time, I don't know ? I must have made a mistake somewhere !

In the nominal ledger view, top right corner of the window there is a drop down menu for the layout. There are three options, alanlyser, graph and list.  It looks as though you have this set to analysier, set it to list instead, this should show the whole nominal ledger.

Hope this helps
