Payroll Questions

Hi

Please can anyone confirm the answers to the following questions as i have a very awkward client wanting me to update their payroll:

  1. If you take an employee on and its their 2nd job you won't have a P45 just a P46 so there will be no information to put through at the year end regarding amounts paid in previous employment.
  2. What happens if you need to process the payroll year end online but dont have employee information such as Date of Birth or National Insurance Number (and they have since left)
  3. How much are the penalties for late filing of P35 etc?

Thanks

Hi

In answer to your questions:

1. correct
2. You should try and track down the information. However a "temporary" date of birth may get through the validation. I am not entirely sure as we use EDI
3. £100 per month (or part month thereof) for every 50 employee on the payroll. So if you have 100 employees, it is £200 a month.

Hope that helps
