I am looking for bookkeeping software either free and downloadable or as cheap as possible just for recording transactions, invoices, bank reconciliation, producing reports that isn't connected to the internet or outer source, just an application on the desktop that we can use for our own records rather than submitting anything to anyone else, apart from our accountant.

I've been looking at solar accounts and it looks really good but does it need connecting to the internet like sage payroll is?

Or could you recommend one?

Many thanks.

Vt transaction is worth looking at. The reports are possibly a little light but it does everything else you've mentioned. I think it's free to try for 60days. I use it for a lot of my clients and find it straightforward, it's just not as "pretty" as Sage.
