I have a client who needs to pay their Corporation Tax and they would like to pay online via the HMRC system with Santander.
The problem is that the Payment Reference No. is made up as follows:
Ten Digit UTR / A / 6 Digits
The Ten Digit UTR is fine, as is the A Reference the problem we are having is obtaining the final 6 Digits in order to make a payment against the correct Tax Year.
Does anybody have any idea how the 6 Digit Reference is made up or is a random No.? HMRC normally send a manual payslip but out client has not received one for this period.
Any help wuld be great.
Dustin

Hi Dustin, I don't think it's random, I think it relates to the year, so they can allocate it correctly. There is a tool on HMRC website to check the reference no:
