PC Remote access

I wondered if anyone is able to recommend a PC remote access supplier?  I have used log me in before not bad for a freebie - however found the screen was small and I had to keep minimising to switch screens.

 

Would love some other ideas.

Hi Donna,

with Windows 7 professional and above remote access is included in the operating system.

I think Vista professional had it as well but I'll never know for sure as I regard Vista as a virus on machines!

That aside, what's that ad where the pigeons bring the guy his PC? Whatever it is it wasn't that good as I can remember the ad but not the company which sort of defeats the object of advertising!

Go to My PC

Only remember it because of the Pigeons.

Never used Go to my PC myself, Windows 7 has it built in.

Hi Jenny,

Goodness knows! I've got Windows 7 home edition on two PC's, XP professional on three machines and Windows ME on the last one. None of them have remote access.

When I was choosing my latest operating system it was a real hair puller trying to decide which one to go with (even thought about staying with XP as my local PC shop still has a supply) and I read a lot about what the various versions gave you before deciding to stick with the home edition.

Remote access was one of the things that was being pushed to move you to the professional edition but I personally don't use it so just stuck with the home edition.

I use GoToMyPC - leave my office pc on and can access it from home, clients, etc.. Screen size not too bad.

I've also used VNC Server which is free, but I don't think it allows you to drag and paste between screens.

We use Norton's PC Anywhere at work, really good features but depends on what do you want to use it for. I used log me in before and yes it is small screen size but most of them are I think. They have a pro version with more things you can do. PC Anywhere is mostly for IT staff I think with options an everyday user would never use. Go to my PC is a good one,too. With the Windows built in one you have to set up a VPN server in order to be able to access a PC.
