I don't think that it would be wise for Agnes to name fingers and point names (guess whose just sat through Pirates of the Caribean 4 for a third time!) as she has voiced that her experience with her Franchisor hasn't been a particularly good one.

Would be interested to know how common franchising is in bookkeeping as whilst I've seen many companies offering franchises I've heard of little evidence of uptake of such.
I suppose that it's because bookkeeping is quite a knowledge intensive subject so franchisors are not offering real training in the subject (often they expect for you to have fully trained yourself before joining them) but rather marketing and community... Or as discussed in the other post, they just want your money and offer very little.
Note that my comments are not reflective of all bookkeeping franchises and some such as Crunchers who have representation on this site have pretty good names for themselves.
