Software VT Transaction

Hi there, I am going for an interview next Friday for a potential job, but they use VT Transaction, does anybody know what this software is like as I have only really used sage?  I know I can download a free trial version of it which I will do.  Thanks

Hi Julie,

I really like it. It's great for entering lots of transactions, if anything I think it's easier than Sage for this. I really like the fact the software remembers the double entry for regular payments and receipts. I know you can set up recurring entries in Sage but I rarely use that feature.

The downside for me, is I really don't like the way VT handles wages by default. The standard chart of Accounts doesn't include Net Wages, which mystifies me a bit. But that's easily changed.

One thing some people mightn't be comfortable with, is when you want to amend a transaction the system shows the double entry. Personally, I thing that features great but if someones used to Sage "doing it for you" I could see them scratching their head.

Lots of VT fans here, so I'm sure others will chip in.

I must admit I like VT. Its just one of the many software programs I use (which sage is not one!).

Its really easy to adapt, add and change  (as Tony as said) - which means its extremely flexible. Sage I found inflexible - as a Sage chart of accounts does not alway suit the business - so often mistakes are made because of this!

Hi Julie,

I am a VT user and find it really easy to use, I don't mind Sage but do find VT much more user friendly.

Hope the interview goes well.

Angela

Thanks for all your replies, at least I know that the software is user friendly.
