Different versions of Sage
Permalink Closed

Good Morning folks

I have got an interview for an accounts related job in the next few weeks.  They have indicated that they would like to test my skills on Sage.  I am quite familiar with Sage Instant Accounts, but don't know what version of Sage they will test me on.

Are all versions of Sage quite similar to each other, or do you think I should ring up the employer to find out which version of Sage they wil be testing me on, and brush up my skills on that version?

Thanks in advance for your response.

Hi again Manjinder,

finding the version being used would be a good move here as even with the same software different editions can be quite dramatically different.

I've got Sage V10 and V14 and it takes a while to come to grips with the fact that they are the same product as the interface is quite different.

Think of the difference between Excel 2003 and Excel 2007. It's the same product under the hood but at first glance everything has moved around.

It's not safe to assume that clients will neccessarily be running with the lastest edition of a product so as you say, try to find the version that they are using then see if you can get your hands on one of the 180 trials for that version.

Good luck with the interview Manjinder, keep us all informed as to how you do,

kind regards,

Shaun.
