Hi, I need some help! I would like to be able to use Quikkbooks, would any kind hearted coul out there within reasonable reach of Luton be able to help me with me with a couple of hours of their time to show me around the programme. I am quite versed on Sage but need to understand what "buttons" do what in QB. Happy to bring the biscuits biggrin Many thanks.

Hi,
Unfortunately I don't live near Luton, I'm on the south coast. I do use QB Pro 2008, and I must say once you get use to the interface of it its really user friendly. If you are familiar with SAGE then QB in my opinion will be a doddle once you get use to it.
Its a similar set up with Supplier and customers, the one difference is you can't put 'batch' suppliers invoices on (well I haven't found a way yet), so you would put each invoice on individually and pressw save when you have put it on and go onto the next one. The way I do it if you have a whole load of invoices for one supplier, so you may have 100 to put on in a month from that supplier I list them on a simple spreadsheet with the date, details, net, gross and VAT, and total them up at the end and then enter the full amount of the spreadsheet as one invoice on QB and say label it May in the reference, and then attach my spreadsheet with that batch of invoices and put in my folder. This is quicker than entering them all individually on QB, but this depends as to how big your customer is on QB's. Some of my clients only have a handful of invoices per month so I just enter them the same way as per sage.

The customer invoices are very straightforward, so go to customer menu at the top and go to 'create invoices'. The reports are brilliant on there and easy to use. The one thing you have to be really careful with is you can go into a transaction and delete it or amend it, there is NO going to Maintenence like Sage and having to do it that way. So if you need to delete something after a VAT Q, best to credit it off and start again. Also there is NO year end button like SAGE. On a whole I like it but there will be others on here who don't.

Have you already set up your client on it or is it a new one that you are not sure how to set up?

Any problems with it post on here and someone will be here to help you. There are a few us on here that are QB users (I'm SAGE as well).

HTH
regards
