Invoicing customer for postage costs

Hi,

we printed out some brochures for a client and posted them so need to reclaim these costs from the client.  If the printing invoice states £80 net + £16 vat what do I charge the client?  We are VAT registered so do I charge them £80 + £16 vat or the full amount £96 + £19.20 vat?

And when I enter the invoice onto my accounts system what vat/vat code do I use?

Hi Buckland

If you're happy not to make a profit on the service then I think you're fine to charge them £80 + VAT of £16. I would use a T1 tax code on Sage.
