New income tax mileage rate?
Permalink Closed

Hello Everyone,

I was wondering if someone could help double check some information?

I believe that the Mileage Rate for expenses claims rose to 45p per mile from 40p per mile as of the 1st April.

Is this correct?

Thanks

Kelly

Hi Kelly

Yes, from 6th April the rate per mile for cars/vans is 45p for the first 10,000 miles, then 25p thereafter.

yes the 45p is correct, however if you or your clients are claiming VAT back, then the fuel element per mile has changed since 1st June 2011. check out http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/cars/advisory_fuel_current.htm
