A interesting resource

I saw this website posted on another forum and the poster was slammed for spamming. Well, I have no connection to the website so I hope it isn't treated as spamming.

http://www.duedil.com/

For finding out information about companies. Now there are many of these on the internet but this one gives financial details going back 20 years. This is gradually being implemented - each time I check back I see more years appearing.

I have no idea how this website makes any money - they say they are going to add premium services later. You can get the actual copies of the accounts filed at Companies House - byt it's only the latest accounts filed. And sometimes, depending on when the accounts were filed, accounts aren't available.

So I've been on a mad spree downloading accounts from local companies. I've also been downloading accounts from the likes of Rangers FC, Cowdenbeath FC. Funnily enough the one for Celtic FC wouldn't download - it said it was corrupt (make up your own jokes).

If this is spamming them remove the link - but I think it is a useful resource. reading the notes along with the accounts has been helping me understand things a little better (especially when a company isn't doing too well). I am surprised some accounts filed still show a Profit and Loss account.

Free is my favourite price! It looks quite good actually, and it wasn't like I needed to do anything else for the next hour anyway...

Sounds interesting - and at the same time suspicious! I can get copies of accounts from Co House for £1, but they are free from this website? Same with directors?

Will have to give it a go.

I was suspicious - but it is only the latest accounts you get for free from this website. I was thinking they might be making it free for six months and it becomes something you use quite a lot so when they do start charging you'll think it worth the money to pay. They have said all that is free at the moment will remain free but they will be adding paid for services.

Wow - so easy, and integrates with social media too! Could easily spend an hour on two on this - * must leave alone *

I think you're right, it's probably free for now but will start charging after a while.

A really useful resource, even if only to check which individuals are involved with a company before requesting ID.

It even has my old Ltd company, which ceased trading in 1993!

It also has our old Ltd company which was dissolved in 1993/94, don't think I like that as it shows a google of my home address too. Where's privacy these days?

Is it any different from 1994. Could anyone not walk into Companies House and get the same information? OK, it might have cost a bit of money - but the information was still available to the members of the public. Companies House online and websites like this one just make things a bit easier.
