A few quotes from the attendees of the last conference:
"I found the last conference amazing."Shirley
"I attended the 2009 Conference and can honestly say it was the best gift I had given myself in my 20+ year bookkeeping career. It inspired me personally and professionally and I am now taking on ever more challenging and interesting roles." DebbieH
"Everyone is very friendly at Conference. There is no clique between grades of membership, simply warm supporting smiles and a genuine interest in anything that you care to chat about, professional or social. You will certainly make a couple of contacts that stick with very little effort, and leave with a buzz and sense of belonging that lasts several weeks." PeteL
"I was at the 2009 conference and loved every bit of it. You can meet new people and get a great in-sight into the world of bookkeeping. You can pick up ideas and get good advice from the members. I couldn't wait for the tickets to go on sale this time. I booked up for both days."Shirl50
"I'm a full member of the ICB and went to the conference in 2009. I really enjoyed it although it did cost me a fortune (but I did splurge on my hotel, travelled 1st class and went to both the dinner and the HoP breakfast !!). I met some really lovely people and learned loads of interesting stuff."Flossie
"The 2009 conference was very good when I was a student Jacquie and Leslie were very helpful." Andrew
Getting a few questions about the summit, it is for ALL bookkeepers, not just ICB members.
Meet other bookkeepers, get industry updates, tell the industry what you want from it.
Don't forget the ICB is quite active in attending parliament discussions about SMEs, so not only do you get a chance to discuss your opinions, but also you might want to ask your clients who are SMEs how they feel the accountancy industry or government in general could support them more.
The speakers include Ann Marie Morris MP who will be talking about small businesses and the economic recovery.
Stuart, shame, but France sounds nice :) I am sure there will be another one next year.
Kris, I don't think the main summit will be outside London as it is an international event, also MPs, representatives from other organisations and software companies are mostly London based.
However, the ICB does have meetings all around the country for you to get your views and opinions across, or there is the forum. Alternatively just call the ICB for a chat.
Only 7 tickets left for the full package and Parliamentary Breakfast!
Speakers from HMRC, DWP, Google, Companies House, VISA and more...
@ Kris I hear there is a big event being organised for Scotland in March ish. No details as yet I'm afraid but I am sure information will be out as soon as we have it!
