Hi I am selling the level 4 ICB management accouting textbook for £25.00 including postage, the book is brand new and costs £35.00 from the ICB website.

Payment by paypal - gift payment so that I don't pay any fees, or by bank transfer.
whats included in this book? Does anyone know how it compares to Management Accounting by T. Lucey which was recommended by my management accounting lecturer.
I don't know how it compares but I found it to be an excellent publication (Kaplan) from my point of view with 470+ pages covering most types of analysis to cover the syllabus.
Ignore the stars, all of the bad ones are for Amazon delivery and nothing to do with the book itself. (touch wood never had a problem with Amazon myself and I've bought a lot of books from them).
The Drury book is a similar price to the Lucey book but it's 816 pages rather than 680. Also now in it's 7th edition and it's recommended reading for many higher level management accountancy courses. (you could get the 6th edition considerably cheaper and there not that much difference between them... I've got the 6th edition).
Also, as it's management rather than financial accounting it's a subject less prone to change so if you really want to know it inside out and upside down get the older BPP ACCA texts for management accounting at the fundamental and skills levels. (papers 1.2 and 2.4).
My versions are : ISBN 0 7517 0726 0 and 0 7517 0730 9.
And they're as valid now as they were back in 2002 (which is incidentally the date of the Lucey book).
They're only available second hand now. Current prices
Paper 1.2 from £2.81 including delivery (for 729 pages) : see here http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/offer-listing/0751707260/ref=dp_olp_used?ie=UTF8&qid=1318671998&sr=8-1&condition=used
Paper 2.4 from £2.81 including delivery (for 644 pages) : see here http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/offer-listing/0751707309/ref=dp_olp_used?ie=UTF8&qid=1318672106&sr=1-1&condition=used
I find these BPP books better than the version for the replacement papers F2 and F9 as they are more numbers rather than waffle based.
Given a choice I would take those two books over the Drury book as they cover all of the same material but do it with far more examples. As I say, I cannot personally compare that to the Lucey book.
Also, I cannot compare these books against Rachels as it seems as though Amazon don't stock it (????). I do know though that as with all BPP and Kaplan texts it will be based on the ACCA texts as they have a tendency to recycle chapters from one book to another and management accountancy is perfect for that purpose. (Been quite annoyed before with some of the BPP I-learn material which is £40 a pop to find the higher level materials simple repetitions with more tyre levered in making me wonder why I didn't just buy the higher level stuff in the first place).
Good luck with Management accountancy whichever book(s) you go for Kris.
Good luck with the sale Rachel, seems a reasonable price for the book for someone who needs this one. Which, as noted above, unlike many financial accounting books (bookkeeping books excluded) it will not become useless when a new version is released.
kind regards,
Shaun.
Editied due to spellings and missing the word Kaplan out of one sentence.
