Hi Guys just working through VAT returns from Kaplan. Now when you sumit a vat return do you only do sales and purchase's of stock is expenses like petrol, ofiice etc included in the purchases section?

I have always included office expenses (stationery and so forth) as purchases on the VAT return.

Petrol is more complicated - I have a question up on that very issue in the VAT and Payroll section of this forum.

Thank you for clarifying that, it's just the way they write up the materials it came across as just purchases on stock. I suppose they do that to simplify things. I will have a look at the vat and payroll section to get updated on petrol vat
