I need assistance in trying to solve an issue with the balance sheet reporting. On the Tb there are balance sheet items but when you prepare a balance sheet they do not appear. We have checked postings and dates etc but when we run the report the figures do not appear. Appreciate help on this one.

Hi There, thanks for your help but we have checked the chart of accounts and the Nml accounts fall into the correct categories.

Probably already done this but just to be sure, have you run the check C0A button at the bottom of the screen? This will show any nominal accounts not included in the selected C0A.

Also, are you using the default CoA, or a custom one?. If you are using a custom one, is it set to default? If not Sage will use the standard set up, which may not include your new nominals.

Can you tell us what the accounts and nominal codes are?

No offense meant but can you confirm the accounts have a closing balance and the codes you're looking for aren't included in another figure in the balance sheet

Hi there

Nom Codes are 2300/2301/2302 & 2330

All have a closing balance and I confirm that these codes are not included in any other fig. in the balance sheet.

Hi J'

It's interesting that the accounts you've listed normally appear added together under "Long Term Liabilities" - does that line appear on the Balance sheet report, even if there's no figure next to it?

I'm thinking, that if the Chart of Accounts is correct then maybe the Balance Sheet Report itself has been edited

Hi there
The Long Term Liabilities line does appear on the report but the value shows as '0.00'. I am not aware that anyone has edited the balance sheet report so I will look into this.

When you look at the Chart of Accounts, check which category includes the range 2300 - 2399? By default they should be in the range mentioned above.

Can you tell us where they actually appear bud?

Edit:

Dont think you've been asked this but does your Balance Sheet balance and the problem is you can't see some items that appear on the TB?

In The Chart of accounts, the category the range 2300-2399 appears in long term liabilities.
The balance sheet does balance and the items appear on the TB but the issue is they do not appear on the balance sheet report in financials

Assuming the three financial reports are all run to cover the same period - then I"m stumped how this can happen given all the checks you've been asked to do.

Sorry.

We have 20 Companies on sage and this was put on recently, so there are only 5 transactions, so what we ere thinking of doing was deleting the transactions and then rentering them to see if this corrects the issue. We feel that there has been a conflict somewhere so we are tryig all solutions to remedy this.
Anyway thanks for your time and effort.

A couple of thoughts:

If the transactions are all in one range, do they all net out as zero?

Also, the transaction dates are within the year you're reporting on?

Hi There, you were absolutely correct. We had added new nominal codes and it has now come clear as to why the balances were being masked. Thanks for this help and also I thank the help from the guys at ADAS
