As some of you know Your Local Book-keeper has become an accredited centre for students who wish to study towards the IAB L4 personal & business tax qualification.
I keep getting asked by the students how much it costs to become a student member of the IAB here in the UK as they can't find the information on the website.
My answer is currently the same. Student membership is given free for 1 year each time they register to take a IAB exam. Of course many "students" are also already associate, member or fellows for which they do pay a subscription, but its nice to know that they and members of other professional organisations can take IAB exams and they do not have to pay an additional subscription to become a student member.
What do you think? Do you think it is important to have free student membership or should you pay a subscription to be a student member, which as far as I can tell, all the other professional body currently make their students pay before they can register to take an exam?
