I came out with a right pearler this morning. I had a meeting with a recruitment agency, they asked where i was up to at the moment and i replied
"Well it's a bit like making a fruitcake, i've got a bit of this, a bit of that, some of this and some of that, what i really need now is to get my hands in and bring it all together"
I told my wife and sge said "why can't you just be normal for once"
I seem to be being offered the chance of a few interviews lately, the vacancies just seem way out of my league. I'm in such a tiz as to what i know, don't know, am capable of or not confident with. My head is spinning right now. I'm looking for someone to take me under their wing, who doesn't grrrrowl when i ask questions, patient, kind and fun to work with. But hey ho who isn't looking for all that?
Better than River Cottage! One guy, a qualified AAT, made redundant - volunteered 2 hours a week at a charity shop and within a few years was the midlands accountant covering about 20 shops. Another started work at £6 p/h at a national bookmakers chain - is now doing bookkeeping and payroll at HQ. In other words, they both got their feet under the table. Maybe not totally relevant, but quite inspiring.
Its my quieter period for a couple of months now, Neil so come round and I'll show you a bit of real-life bean counting etc. If I ever growl its at the Revenue doing my Robin Hood impression lol
