I think it sounds lovely and cosy Sheila. I am just ready to read pDm's blog after playing with Sage since well before dawn broke. I am supposed to be working but thats gone out the window as the temperature is just off putting. Looking forward to getting home this afternoon, big mug of coffee and a bar of chocolate, roaring fire and maybe i might get out my guitar and have a little strum, take my mind off Mondays interview for a wee while.

I've noticed that there's usually no single thread for forum members to just chat in. Something I've seen on other threads is a "daily thread" like this one which doesn't really have a topic; well I suppose it does in a way.
Today's topic is "today".
So, who's about? Who's logged on? What are you up to? How are you doing?
Today I had to put the blog post up a bit earlier than usual. In all this freezing weather me and my partner have to clear out the garage.
I say clear out, it's going to be like Jenga taking stuff out and Tetris putting it back again (there's a lot of stuff in our garage). Wish me/us luck.
First things first - fresh pot of coffee and a bacon sandwich.

I don't think there's been one as most threads tend to develop to different topics anyway. Today I need to do some shopping as weKve finally run out of things to eat and can't live on takeaways any longer.
This week I took on 2 new clients and a 3rd in the pipeline so I think I'll need to do a wee bit of work this weekend. I also got a comment about my website which hurt me, so I need to spend some time on that too.
I've also started putting together virtual businesses for my friends over at the icb forum to let them practice on something slightly more realistic than a list of transactions. Month 1 of a hairdressers was create last month, so today or tomorrow month 2 should be finished.
Managed to get a few days off after several months and the annual deadline. We're three days into it and gradually winding down, pottering about, cooking hot meals and throwing around grit borrowed from the local authority. We justify this because our cul-de-sac is never treated and though short, it has a hill and chicane worthy of Hockenheim. The snow hasn't melted here but its quite pretty right now with the sun out.
Bit of a mystery in the back garden. It would appear someone has carefully torn off half the felt from the shed roof. It's nowhere to be found and the neighbours are great so I have to assume that it's a leaky-kennel owning individual hit by the recession. Maybe he's vindictive and saw me with my bucket and spade at the grit box.
Morning Don - we're lucky with the melt as we live on the high street (lucky for some things, unlucky for 3am drunks pissing on my door step) and the snow barely has a chance to settle and look pretty before some roll-up smoking, yellow wearing worker has shovelled it all away. And yes I know I'd be moaning if it didn't happen that way and I was really snowed-in for once. lol

That seems a little unfair. I've just taken a quick look and remember that yours was one of the websites I really liked when considering design features for my own. The Instant Quote box on the right I think is very clever and a concept I'm using on the new version of my new site (although adapted for my own purposes, not cut/paste, lol). I'll be interested to see the changes you make though... What do you have planned?

I'm sat in the caravan in Cumbria, Hubbie just gone fishing - hoping (probably in vain) for a bass, likely to get a flattie if anything. Just paid the site for a day's wi-fi and after I've done some work on my only on-line client, I'm going to catch up on IPlayer for some programmes I like and have missed in the last couple of weeks.
It's not really holiday, pDm we have a seasonal winter pitch and come up most weekends. I try to relax!!!! As for cold, it's a lot better this year than last. We've only had the water frozen 2 weeks last year it was almost the entire time from November to February.
Getting ready to go to Goodison with my sons. Well the pub first, then the match. Work being the big commitment that it is, matchday is really important for us.
Chelski today, so a tough one.

I'm sitting at the kitchen table pretending to pay some bills whilst really looking on here, whilst the kids destroy the lounge, and hubbie is also pretending to do something constructive on his PC lol.
I have to do some work this weekend - Backdated VAT returns with lots of paperwork missing. I do love a challenge though - its these types of jobs that make me love what I do oddly enough. I also really need to sort out the writing I want on my website (if the offer is still there Kris - sorry I've not got back to you with it but writing has never been my thing, hence me working with numbers lol)
Today is a lazy, boring, clear out and clean day though but we are off out for dinner this evening which will be nice. And tomorrow we are taking the kids ice-skating for the first time which I am really excited about, but hubbie is dreading.
Spent the early part of the morning catching up with my own bookkeeping. Apart from raising client invoices, I haven't entered any expenses, since July last year! I hade to find the carrier bag of receipts, sort them, and enter them. Finally they are all on VT, and up to date.
Spent the rest of the day trying to find a definitive answer to Peasies question on another thread Expense classification - signwriting on a van, without great success. Although I feel OK with my opinion, when other well respected members have a different view, I feel the need to find out for sure.
Bacon sarnie, and coffee um yum yum.
Quite mild here +3 c, and sunny. Haven't seen any snow yet this year. Cant make up my mind to go for a walk to the beach, have a strum the banjo, or continue to try and learn the concertina.

God i used to have a squeezebox in my mums loft....wonder if it's still there. Had many happy times pretending i could play that thing, next door knocking on every 5 mins to see what i was doing to the cat.
Reminds me of an old Garry Larson farside cartoon.

Wonder if those in purgatory get bagpipes?

lol @ Wella - I've got a mate at the day job who's learning banjo (and I ride a motorcycle, so mwahahaha!) - Garage is all done now; we're in the neighbouring pub for a well earned pint before attacking the camping gear and finally stowing away after last summers fishing trip (I know, I know - slack doesn't even describe it - might do that tomorrow).
