How difficult is Sage Paytoll to use?

If it is already in use by the company, for someone to come in and take over? would it take a long time to get the hang of?

Cheers,

Neil.

I've used it in the past but not the current version.

I wouldn't say that anything that SAGE do is difficult to understand or time consuming to learn. If it's a deal breaker for the job then get a sage payroll trainer kit from Amazon for somewhere around £30 - £40.

here's a link to the 2010 trainer :

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sage-Instant-Payroll-Study-Course/dp/1906048258/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1329146576&sr=8-2

Now how can I take this off topic???

Not hard at all Neil. Bit of a play around with it, coupled with a spurious understanding of payroll and away you go.

Not happy that this thread hasn't been de-railed as yet.

It quite easy, particularly if already set up and the members of staff get a regular monthly salary (ie no overtime etc) all you do is go through then print the payslips and reports, (found in pre update reports, I think) back up and update then print P32.

Pretty much it. Enter timesheets, pre-update report (wage slips), update and print report, the only real thing to think about is your processing dates and inputting hours worked correctly. Ther's about a trillion other things it can do but you can learn about them as and when. Things like processing leavers etc is all in the help section.

There is a course you can do but to be honest I wouldn't bother.

He didn't see it. Even if he had he wouldn't have bothered as I don't think you're allowed to changed the subject line once it has been posted.

The sad thing is I noticed it while lying in bed this morning. I start the morning off by looking at Twitter, then Facebook then this forum. Because I was looking at the site in the mobile version it cut the subject line off at "How difficult is Sage Payt" so it stuck out like a sore thumb.

EDIT : Missing an "f"

Thanks gang members,

Ta for that link Shaun, i won't rush out and buy anything just yet although i do think some basic payroll knowledge would enhance my chances.

With studying AAT i haven't had much free time to take on any other projects, i would rather get the course i'm working on at present out of the way

without muddying the water by starting another course.

Neil

Wait until I post something about bookkeeping or tax. Probably a long wait.
