Does anybody have any experience with this?

I need a simple bookkeeping package that will also take care of stock.

I came across this package when I searched Amazon UK for bookkeeping packages and it was there alongside Quickbooks and various Sage offerings. What really struck me was the very high user rating feedback that it got - higher than any other (you know, 'Sort by - Avg. Customer Review'). Quickbooks was the only one to get close to it. However, none of my accountant friends have ever heard of it and they recommend ... Sage (?).

Has anyone here any personal experience with this package, as other than the Amazon 'Customer Reviews', I cannot find much (other than their website) on it.

I would really appreciate a pointer here.

Thanks

Like your accountant friends, I've never heard of it, either. :)

Looking at their website, though, I see there's a trial version you can download and install. Why not try it out?

..."download and install" - yes, of couse that will give me some idea, however, actually working with it may have given any user a very valuable perspective.

I can add it to my downloads of VT Cashbook, VT Transaction, GNU cash, Money Manager 2000  and all the rest that I have downloaded and deleted.... it seems a complete minefield.

Also, this situation isn't improved by the likes of Microsoft and MYOB (two packages that seem to have been well liked by users)  effectively leaving the small business bookkeeping package sector.

I am concerned about all the bemused Sage posters and Quickbooks attitude to upgrades and support.

I need stock functionality (and would like PAYE also) and it looks as though ABC6 has them for a modest outlay.

Anybody used or using ABC6?

I have not heard of this package at all but you do need to know that people have different preferences, I myself like sage as i find it does what i want it to do. I do not like the way sage sell there software but then you have to make exceptions. You would be better off getting the free trial and having a play like Vince mentioned.

Hi Charles, I must say I like the sound of this software and I hadn't heard of it so thanks for bringing it to my attention. As for price, although there doesn't seem a need to upgrade every year, the catch, to me is that it's a 'single user licence'.

I'm guessing your requirements are not met under the stock system specifications so please don't take this as being faceteous...... have you tried listing your functionality needs and asking their helpline if it ticks all the boxes?

best wishes
