Wages Journals

Hi all

I have just started on a new clients books and have come accross a journal entry for directors wages as follows:

JC 2220 £610.00

JD 7002 £610.00

No Ni or Paye which is ok but why use those two nominal codes instead of 7000 and 7002?

Thanks in advance!

Dopey Doris lol. love the username.

high Sharon,

sounds as though the directors remuneration was accidentally put to net salaries rather than directors remuneration and the journal is sorting it out.

kind regards and welcome to the forum,

Shaun.

Thats what I hoped had happened, otherwise my payroll head would have exploded with this 'new' way of entering the journal!!

Hi Alfred,

I did.

I've got a tatty, dog eared bit of A4 bluetacked to the bookcase next to my desk with all the standard Sage nominal codes on it.

Must just be my faulty old grey matter that hates memorising codes but has no problem memorising accounting standards, which when I quote those generally it really is off the top of my head.

Thankfully not had to look at Sage nominal codes much at all for a while as I'm trying to stay clear of Sage and go to VT.
