Yes but I seldom hit the target (Which is set at a pretty low bar of just one new client per week),

I know that targets are supposed to be achievable otherwise they have a demotivational effect (re the standards dimension of Fitzgerald & Moons building blocks model) but as I've only myself to answer to I don't take issue with the impossible targets as I make the bonus anyway... Not that it's a big one, stingy slave driving boss... Oh, that would be me wouldn't it wink

Generally, do most businesses have a target as to how many new clients / businesses are to be aquired in a week/month?

I would have thought so - at the very least so that some kind of break even can be established - but I suppose it depends upon the industry.
