Purely personal point of view - but I've recently got an iPhone 4S and it's fab. Admittedly I was upgrading from an old nokia!!
If you decide to go for something new now - may be interested in buying your iPhone 3 from you for my son who had his phone nicked a few weeks ago, let me know!

My iPhone 3 is due for an upgrade. I've been offered a new iPhone 4S for free if I sign up for a new 24 month contract. I've been doing some research and it sounds like the iPhone 5 will be released towards the end of 2012.
My question is, should I get the iPhone 4S now (which looks really good) or wait for the iPhone 5? Or should I jump ship and go for a new Android or even Blackberry phone?
I love the iPhone for the App store, and especially iTunes (great to listen to when bashing in a few bank statements), so it would be difficult to leave the Apple club!
Any advice?

completely off subject but just picked up on that last line about listening to music when working.
I must have a seriously faulty brain as music hits the reset button with me.
Love listening to music but if I go into a store with the intention of buying something specific and they are playing music I have to come outside again to remember what it was that I went in there for in the first place (and then I write it on my hand before venturing in again.... Or just go home and buy it from Amazon).
Its not age related, I've always been like this!
I don't actually have any staff of my own yet but already have a contract of employment lined up and one of the things in it is absolutely under no circumstances are people have radios (even personal one's) in the office.
I know it sounds as though my companies contract of employment is right up there with Sheldon Coopers roommate agreement (Big Bang Theory) but I really am hoping that it becomes something more along the lines of Cage and Fish (Ally McBeal)... Well, except for the unisex toilets!
Oops, sorry, went even further totally off subject there than I intended.
Personally I would wait for what you want rather than making do with something that you don't

With the contract Shaun just make sure your staff don't have a girlfriend lawyer who will pick holes in your contract just like the show.
@ Stuart I would wait and see what Apple are doing as there has been some talk that the company may be loosing it's edge since the big man hit the dirt, I mean come on The New ipad very inventive Jobs would be rolling in his grave.
In my opinion, if you want a serious phone i would get a windows phone 7.5 phone. They do all the things an iphone/android phone does such as play angry birds/listen to music/take photos, but the operating system is better deisgned.
for example there is the people hub where all my contacts, from outlook, linkedin, twitter and facebook are all amalgamated, so for example when i click on my old boss, i can see what he has said on facebook and twitter, see his job profile on linkedin and all his telephone and email addresses from outlook. although it does have them, it doesnt need seperate apps for facebook or twitter etc.
On a more serious note i find it is great for work as microsofts skydrive is built into the system, all my work documents, i keep in my skydrive folder on my laptop and i can always access the latest versions on my phone. Being microsoft you hae the full suite of excel and word etc. whilst i am not saying i write documents on the phone, it is amazingly handy just being able to check something which is stored on my laptop when i am out and about.
Dont fall for andriods quadcore specs, if it was well written it wouldnt need them, windows phone has neen proven to be faster than the iphone and android in the smoked by windows phone challenges.

Stuart, my contract on my 3GS comes to an end in July and I'm toying with the 4S but like you don't know whether to wait for the 5. I want to stick with Iphone because I use MAC with my major client and it makes things easier. Which provider is offering you a free phone on a 24 month contract and what's the monthly fee, I may have to switch providers.
IMHO wait for the 5. It wont be long before its out 4-5 months tops. Hey it may even be out in June/July like they used too! Dont go for blackberry, RIM (the makers) are scaling back and focusing directly on its business customers. Plus with service outages like there was last year and several other issues.. no thanks, stay clear. I had windows phones, albeit 2 years ago now, and they are great to start with, but the longer you own the phone the slower i found it got... just like a desktop PC. (are they still like this, have they improved?)
I was reluctant to go from windows phone to iPhone, but now i have i would NEVER go back! loosing all the apps etc you paid for... missing out on the new Sage App... (may be availble on all formats i dont know)
I'll stick with the Iphone, Im waiting for the 5 to come out too! (oh and please dont go for 24 month contracts, yes they seem cheaper but they aren't in the long run, making you fork out more over the 2 years than 18 months, up to as much 150 quid! :/ (plus your next one would be the iPhone 7! :/ )
I love my Blackberry, and wouldn't go for anything else. I'm actually at the stage of looking for a new one as I've had my current model for coming up on 2 years now.
