You should look at the Accounting Standards Board website, assuming that you're interested in UK GAAP. You can download a copy of the FRSSE from the website, which is probably the most useful document if you're dealing with smaller entities.

Unfortunately the above is a little out of date as IAS27 has changed, IFRS10, 11, 12 and 13 are new and IAS31 swims with the fishes.
Better perhaps to read their current short notes which are published under IASPLUS (see here for the index page).
