Or try Amazon??? - Scrap that - they only have levels I to III in stock and same on the Kaplan website. Looks like you're at the mercy of the ICB website coming back to life!

Here's an interesting lesson from ICB.  Don't let technology take over your business.  They're upgrading their website, it was supposed to be completed by midnight on Sunday but they're still having issues meaning a lot of it is still down, including their forum.

I was looking to buy a new text book, but that part of their site is still down, so I thought I'd phone them, and guess what?  Even by phone they run everything through the website so couldn't sell me it.  The best they could do was tell me to try again on Friday.

It's a lesson for all of us there.

Kris

Just updating my CV and (going back a bit now) used to send wads of rental cash in a registered envelope! Maybe try a postal order?

Thats the point Tim. It seems that their whole sales system is joined to the website so can't process any sales without it. Certainly that's how the person I spoke to explained it. I just thought I'd highlight the danger of over reliance on a system like this.

On a slightly related subject it looks as though the ACCA have had enough of their fancy new site (which has brought them (and it's members) nothing but grief for the last couple of months) and when I went on today they had reverted to the old website.

Big well done to ACCA there for making a positive move for the benefit of the members.

Wonder how long it will be before the ICB have a similar epiphony and revert their site then?

The ICB don't do anything by half. On 11th May they said their forum would be down for the weekend. Here we are almost 2 weeks later and it's still down.

Now Kris - if you had read the "News" page you would know that the forum will be returning on the 23rd May. Won't have long to wait now.

The date at the bottom of my computer screen must be wrong - it says TODAY is the 24th May.

Very sneaky of the ICB - 23rd May - but doesn't say which year.

Ah, well I only read Ami's post saying see you after the weekend. I did call and was told the forum was back up, and I could post, but alas more misinformation.

Hello All,

Peasie hit the nail on the head, May 2013 biggrin

Seriously though, you can buy stuff, the online shop wasn't available straight away but you could call, I know you said the person told you that you could not, so I will find out who and have a word smile

Yeah I have been very busy, basically the part of the software written in house works fine, the public side was written by a 3rd party and has taken longer to get up to speed.

Logging on to the website is a little slow, as is the shop. The assessments are fine, online results etc are also ok.

The forum works but is very slow, you can access it here: http://my.bookkeepers.org.uk/forum.aspx Assessments were obviously no 1. priority, so now they are sorted next week we will be working on speeding everything up.

Sorry about the delays, I don't think it is as bad as ACCA so wont be reverting back.

Take as long as you need James, we're just chatting amongst ourselves until you get back up

I did speak to a person who told me I couldn't buy a book because the site was down, then one today who told me it was fine and the forum was back up.

Just noticed and got confused with three members all with different but similar hats on. Do you belong to another society?

Dallas appreciation society biggrin

All started long, long ago in a thead where I mentioned that I had worked in Texas.

I've never actually been to Dallas, I was in Houston (loved the place) but it was either a Dallas theme or astronaughts... Who coincidentally also have very similar hats wink

Actually, if anyone in Texas wants to marry me so that I can get a green card just send me a message biggrin

I get error message any time I try to post. Still no new posts since 11th May.
