I'm new to the forum but really need some help if possible.

I complete the bookkeeping for a small limited company and their accountant is away on holiday. The client has received a letter from Companies House saying that they have not completed their Annual Return and that they may get fined £ 5,000.

I do not currently complete company secretarial work but haev done so in my previous job so I understand what needs to be done. The size of the fine sounds a lot for not completing an Annual Return is this right?

It's scare tactics - just get it filed, should be no problem.

I have requested the Authorisation code and will file with COmpanies House once this is received.
