Are Crunch and Crunchers the same company?
Permalink Closed

Just read a forum post from last night about a company called Crunch. Had a look at their website and it looks very sleak.

Does anyone know if this is the same company as the Crunchers bookkeeping franchise that's mentioned on here from time to time? I know a rebrand has been mentioned and if it's their new website I'm really impressed.

Think that Bob would have a thrombie calling them a bookkeeping franchise as he's now told us several times that they have realligned their strategic position as Alternative Accountants (To my mind the alternative to an accountant is an advanced level bookkeeper but what do I know).

here's the Crunch who are we :
https://www.crunch.co.uk/who-we-are/

and here's the crunchers who are we :
http://theaccountingfranchise.co.uk/about-us/

No obvious crossover between senior staff.

Crunch is in Hove, East Sussex
Crunchers is in Penyrn, Cornwall

Both icons are almost identical using four boxes inside a box.

Both businesses are incorporated.
Crunch is E-Crunch
Crunchers is THE CRUNCHERS FRANCHISE LTD

All in all, no, they are not the same business.

kind regards,

Shaun.

Anything that starts with Alternative sounds a bit fishy to me Shaun. Alternative medicine is one, it just brings images of tree bark and frog spit to my mind. Alternative Accountants gives me images of bearded beings in a smoky back room casting spells to make the numbers fit. But what do i know lol.

That would be normal accountants Neil.

When you complete ACCA you get a free pointy grey hat and a staff.

@Jan - No, they are not the same; Crunch are online and low cost, Crunchers are offline and high value so we will be more expensive.

Crunchers was a bookkeeping franchise and our strategy was to work with accountants. But, accountants didn't share our vision so we are going to offer accounting services as well. We use the term Alternative Accountants to ensure people know we are different from traditional accountants. We should have a short video ready next month which explains this.

Stuart - I've seen the first few sections and I'm really looking forward to sharing it. It tells everyone what we are (and what we are not) very quickly.

I think the video is going to be useful on two levels; potential franchisees will know what we are about but most importantly business owners will know we are very different to traditional bookkeepers/accountants.
