My employer took me on around a month and a half ago on the apprenticeship scheme and I've really enjoyed learning something new everyday so far.
Part of the apprenticeship scheme means that I get to be in college a day per week and my employer gets some funding for training from the government. I found out yesterday that I will need to quit my open university computing degree which I have been undertaking for the past two years if I want to continue to be an apprentice. The reason for this is that you can only have one course funded (part) by the government at any one time.
I really want to be an accountant but also I have a passion for the computing degree too and I am paying for this myself (although it is part funded). I feel like I have no choice but to quit the degree as I really want to be an accountant one day, it just doesn't seem fair. I only want to learn.
