HMRC PAYE Email Alert Service
Permalink Closed

Thank you.

Getting a bit frustrated with HMRC at the moment.

Can't register a client as HMRC have entered an incorrect post code.

Can't change it as I am not registered.

Can't register as the post code is wrong.

Thought I would relax (?) watching a HMRC Webinar,  Unfortunaltely it did not work on either 2 desktops or a lap top.

But at least the sun has just come out.

Having just aquired my first payroll client I checked the HMRC site to download the Employers Bulletin.

I then attempted to sign up for the PAYE email alert service :

http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/paye/forms-publications/register.htm#3

However to register for this you need to insert the Employer PAYE reference. I do not have my own PAYE scheme so I copuld not sign up for the service.

I was logged in as an Agent.

Any ideas would be most welcome

Thank you

Jay

HMRC can be strange about stuff like this.

When we were developing 12Pay we hadn't yet registered the company as an employer, and we wanted sample P45, P60 documents etc (not images on the internet, but actual paper copies are needed for print design because registration may vary by a mm or 2 compared with PDF prints), but HMRC couldn't send us any because we didn't have an employer reference. They literally have no mechanism for sending these documents out except to registered employers, so we had to register as an employer to get them.
