Sage Accounts & Sage Payroll Backups on Dropbox
Permalink Closed

Hi Everyone

At my home office I am currently doing all my clients work on my Desktop PC, I have memory sticks for each client, at the end of the week I restore all my clients work on to my Laptop as a security measure so I have two copies,  all my bookkeeping is processed using Sage 50 Client Manager and Sage Payroll and excel for spreadsheet work.  Does anyone know if you can backup Sage into Dropbox, if so it will save me backing up and restoring onto both machines?

Thanks

Remington

Hi, I use both sage and dropbox too. Dropbox makes it convenient as you can both share a file rather than emailing back ups or carrying memory stick however unless anyone knows different - you will still require restoring back ups.

Hi Helen & Donna

Thanks for your reply, when I save my work in Sage Accounts on my Desktop PC, will Dropbox update my Laptop?

Thanks for your help

Hi Remington

It will update the Dropbox folder on your laptop as soon as your laptop is next switched on and synch's with the file but it will not automatically update Sage as Donna said you will still ne to restore the back up

Hi Mark

Thanks very much for your help, I think I now have a clearer understanding of how the Dropbox works.
