Does anyone know if it is possible to :

I have a client on sage thats been on 3 years with the back ups up to date, the company Director has asked if i can create a new company , change the Name on sage and transfer this years transactions over, his year end is Dec 12, so i have 6 months of this years transaction on, and i would need to carry forward the balances from last year??

Would i be able to do this from the memory stick and ?? I think i am prob asking too much ???

I want to say yes: off the top of my head so please don't do it !! I think you can export the data for the current year out into a csv file, clear down the data in the existing company and then re-import the data. This is the simplistic version though so its really not as easy as it sounds - I'd be printing off loads of reports before I did it as well so I could prove it was right afterwards. And you'd need to enter an opening TB dated last day of the old year if you just imported this years data. The big question is why would he want to ? If it's the number of transactions you can archive the data to speed it up
