Error- file maintenance

Hi, I'm a bookkeeper for a shop and use sage instant accounts. I have two errors while running check data. I've posted too much to restore back up so need to correct these errors if possible. The two errors are noted as: Trial balance recorded in nominal records is unbalanced by -220.00 Trial balance based on transaction total is unbalanced by -220.00 I've had a look and i believe it's to do with transfers between the bank account and a Till account. I have a duplicated transaction of 220 as a transfer (journal credit) in the till account yet only one 220 appears in bank account. Any ideas on how to correct this? The bank is reconciled up to date

Hi Laura,

Not entirely sure, but this sounds like data corruption to me and I would not post anything else until you can get this sorted. Do you have Sage cover?

If not then over on the Sage forum.... www.sageforum.co.uk there are a couple of people in the Services available section that offer a data fixing service at a fraction of the cost of Sage. You will probably have to register first.

Hope this helps.

Pauline

Are the transaction numbers the same?

Sage often does this when exporting the nominal ledger detail to Excel (Duplicated transactions).......although Sage itself

does not have this duplicate! If you can see what the error is then maybe it is easy to delete the orginel transaction

and input the journal again (or bank transfer) using the original date. I would probably delete it....then run the data check....then

re-post......then run check again.
