Hi

Just posting a purchase invoice in Sage and it is for computer software net value £4500.  Would this be an asset as it has a life of approx 5years.  I have never posted software to this value before usually been below £1000.

Yes an asset.

Would capitalise and write off over 5 years straight line ie £900 per year if expected to last for 5 years.

Regards

Perhaps I should take a career change and write computer programmes and make even more on the training of someone to use them. The £4500 then had £1000 support for 1 year and then an additional £1250 for 3 training days. Wow, licence to print money.
