Trying to file abbreviated accounts - notes page fails checks
Permalink Closed

Hi all.

Trying to file annual accounts using the eforms for the first time, and am running into problems. Hoping someone can help!

- This is a dormant company that owns the freehold of the property that I (and the other 3 flat owners) live in.

- For more than 10 years, we've filed on paper using the "abbreviated form for small dormant companies. The accounts have basically been the same year to year:

Assets

    - Fixed Assets (freehold properly)

    - Curent assets (cash at bank)

Liabilities

    - Lease (cancels out the fixed asset)

Net Assets (same as cash at bank)

Paid Up share capital

- I've downloaded the abbreviated template PDF, filled in all the values, and the numbers check out (there's a nice 'check figures' facility).

- However, when I try to submit this, the form fails the Pre-submission test with the following message:

"NOTES SHEET MANDATORY FIELDS NOT FILLED:

THE NOTES SECTION HAS FAILED THE PRE-SUBMISSION CHECKS, PLEASE RE-CHECK THE PAGE AND CORRECT."

- I cannot work out what needs to go in here. There are 2 options for accounting policies, and I've set them both to No. Is this correct?

- I'm entering a note in the additional information section saying that the fixed asset it a freehold and the liability is the lease.

- I'm putting "None" in the turnover notes section.

- I've tried leaving the depreciation section empty as it makes no sense to depreciate the property (I think). This brings up a red box. So I've put in "Land and Buildings" as the Asset Type. 0% as the depreciation, and straight line as the depreciation type. I've also tried 1% as the depreciation.

- None of this works, whatever I do, I get the same error message

Can anyone help? I'm tearing my hair out trying to understand what I'm doing wrong.

Turns out that there's a page 2 in the notes that isn't signposted at all!! Filled in the fixed assets section, and all was well.
