Re post wages journal please help

Hi, i am a new member and need help.  I posted an additional bank payment to net wages control as some staff were underpaid and have reconciled my bank but now need to update the wages, ni etc, how do i journal this????????? month end starts monday .....cry  would be glad of the help

Hi there

Journal for the underpayment will depend on how the original wages journal differs from the payroll records.  If there is a shortfall in net wages there must be a shortfall somewhere else in the journal (probably gross wage).  Therefore to sort

Dr Gross Wages (P&L)  x

Cr Wages Control (B/S)         x
