firstly, i am in the process of applying for my pracrising cert however need to enter into a continuity agreemnt, anyone in a similar position?
secondly, im looking to developing a website but cannot afford to get one built, so have been looking at these design yourself websites wix, vista for a monthly fee of £10 which you have full control over, anyone used any of these and kind enough recomend which is good?
can't help with the continuity agreement but on the website front try Sitebuilder which is available with one of the Namesco packages.
It takes a bit of getting used to and is not always intuitive but you can still build some quite nice looking sites using it rather than some of the quite unprofessional one's that I've seen out there.
Think that it costs me around £78 per year inclusive of the site name but I'll be able to confirm that later.
kind regards,
Shaun.

Thanks guys, really appreciate the advice. First thing tomorrow i will check out all the options recomended. Its always a comfort to try something which someone else has tried and tested
Getting visitors to your website is just as important as the look of it, could be argued more! I would recommend investing £3-400 and get someone to build you a basic WordPress site with you having control of the content.
These templates sites aare very poor SEO wise.

going to disagree a little on this one but not actually with your primary statement which I am sure is correct.
The issue I feel is that there are two sorts of site. Those where the client is doing a random search and you want your company to pop up near the top of any list and those where the client knows who they are looking for and you need for your site to pop up immediately in a search based on your name.
For the former you are really looking at national coverage companies with a lot of money to spend. For the latter the template sites are fine but you need to ensure that you have informed Google of your sites existence for them to pick it up in their searches otherwise nobody would ever find the site short of entering the full address.
I could be completely wrong in my thinking but to my mind a website is really a backup for more established forms of advertising where one is able to pad out more information to try and get the client to a decision.
So long as people can find me once they know that I exist I'm quite happy but I fully appreciate the alternate thinking that the website will sell the practice in it's own right without backup advertising.
Very much a subject where thinking on both sides of the fence has merit and the person building the site really needs to think about their whole campaign and CRM systems rather than divorcing the website from other advertising avenues and long term strategies.
Anyway, hope that you are well Phil,
talk later,
Shaun.
