Did you claim AIA on the computer when new? If so you wouldn't account for it as it would be fully written off for tax purposes even though it may still be in the process of being depreciated through the books.
Current year AIA would be utilised for the cost of the replacement computer.
If you repair the broken computer its a revenue expense against current year profits.
