Does anyone used coloured paper when sending out marketing letters
Permalink Closed

Hi,

Does anyone use coloured paper when sending out marketing letters, so to get them noticed and not forgotten at the bottom of the pile because its white paper?

If so what coour do you use.  Strong colours, colours the same as you website/stationery, or pastel colours etc?

Just interested on peoples thoughts?

I once worked with someone who told me to always use a coloured paper so it stands out.

Many thanks,

Hi Amanda,

that's actually a really good point along with shaped paper and card (we spoke about the footprints cards a few weeks back).

I'm too conservative to ever stray too far from the acceptable and also being Dyslexic I'm well aware of the affects that paper colour can have on the recipients ability to read the material. (Dark colours, especially Blue's and Red's are to be avoided like the plague).

I have a stock of good quality (120gsm grained, watermarked) creamy beige and white paper... Also got a ream of light green that was a mistake.

Worth noting there that the weight and quality of the paper will also make it stand out.

kind regards,

Shaun.

A quality cream paper or something around there would be nice. I agree that white paper, even quality can be boring. Pastel colours sound good and warm too.

Aim to be like Mike Little, He said,

So i did,

And he just shook his head.

Your so funny Neil!!!!

Shaun hadn't thought about the dyslexic bit. I have gone and bought a fairly dark blue, as in a brightish blue. Printed a couple out this morning and to be honest they certainly won't be forgotten on someones desk! Not really sure about them though.

Did contemplate red but thought against that one. I used to have pale green I used them for invoicing and I really didn't like it at all. I still got a few sheets of light blue, which looks nice but I couldn't get any this time, in small quantities so thought I would have the darker blue. Maybe I have made a mistake?

What are other peoples' thoughts on this?

Maybe I should have gone for a pastel Lilac or something like that? What I wanted was to stand out from the pile of paperwork, so they get fed up of seeing it and then phone me!!!!!
