Simple question really but I cannot find any information on it, can a sole trader claim expenses for more than one van if he has two ie capital allowance and all running costs? It would be for business use only and no personal use.

Why would a sole trader want to have 2 van as he can only drive one at any point in time?  Going to have unnecessary costs eg cost of buying, road tax, MOT etc.

If he has employees then that would make sense and would be a reason to have more than one van and yes can claim capital allowances (subject to AIA restrictions) and all running costs.

Regards

Mark
