Does anyone have any further information on the student member clarification thats going to happen in Jan 2013?
Just reading the in practice email would seem to indicate that :
if you are an ACCA student from outside the UK who has a practicing certificate from an IFAC body then you will be allowed to practice within the UK.(so long as you do not mention your ACCA affiliation).
if you are an ACCA student within the UK who has a practicing certificate from an IFAC body then you are still bound by the restrictions of regulation 8 (bookkeeping to trial balance, basic VAT record keeping and Payroll record keeping. No advice, no filing).
Now I can live within those rules but if they are as they seem I'm not happy about it as that's creating an unfair system of preference to non UK accountants.
Is that even legal to discriminate against UK citizens regardless of it being your qualification (so you can do as you please with regard membership of it).
If anyone has any further details please post ahead of the actual release to the 2013 rulebook on 1st Jan.
kind regards,
Shaun.
