Flat Rate Expenses...
Permalink Closed

After having trawlled the internet about these I was just wondering whether or not i was getting things right.

I have just recently filled in a tax return for a nurse, and included her fixed rate expenses for clothing, shoes and tights. Now most of the how to sites (by nurses for nurses) say that the figure allowed has to be calculated and your can claim 20% of this allowance.

However I have a lot of friends who i want to help out as they work as nurses/police/paramedics etc etc, but there is no mention of the 20% rule anywhere else... is this a actually a rule for all FRE's?? Nurse's get £100 a year, police get 140... (but no metion of the 20% rule for police)

Can someone help clear this up for me please?
