I have previously commented on here about thinking of training to became a book-keeper. I have noe decided that they is no time like the presnt to go for it. Thanks to all the advice given in the past, i have decided to to a ICB course. I have also brought a few books that have been suggested and had a quick look at them, which has helped me recap some previous work which I did back in college.
So just wanna say thanks to everyone for they advice and wish me luck for the future .
That is good to know, just be sure you do plenty of research, Shaun the forum moderator is always certain to give well rounded unbiased advice as most on BKN will, I dont get the chance to post on here as much as I used to due to work commitments and running the BKN/Training Link fantasy football league, there are some great providers out there, we are just one of them, give them a call and get a feel of what is right for you, if you can get through some of the levels with self-study workbooks you could save yourself a wee bit of money.
I read your original post of you going down the self study route and if the ICB is your chosen Bookkeeping body they do offer online mock exams for about £10, so you could maybe use your knowledge to gain the qualification or at least some of them under your own steam.
I have done alot of research since i put my first post on here. and upto now the training link seems to be the best options and value for money of what i am looking for.
I know its going to be a long path but, the idea of been successful and my own boss will keep me going.
And i had you pegged as a long haired, flower print shirted, bell bottomed, platform sole wearing hippy.
Imagine the pass percentages for exams if the class tutor actually sat in a big leather chair with his back to the class while he stroked his cat and gave lectures?
I think you may be onto something there............................
"and then we will sell Training Link for ONE TRILLLLLLLLLLLION POUND"
You know, with that amount of money, although it's still not enough you'd be able to make a damned good contribution to the Open Source Death Star kickstarter project. And a with pledge at that sort of level, you could attach conditions such as getting to wear the black suit and mask upon completion - which must surely be the next logical step.

I think that certain bankers have already reserved that spot Vince.
One trillion... That would be around 2.22 days turnover of one of them or one third of the reserves of another.
I think that evidence is clear. First the UK banks bought huge chunks of Chinese banks. Now huge amounts of scrap metal are being shipped off there.... The pieces of the puzzle are all falling into place.

If they are there may be trouble as India have apparently claimed the moon.... Don't see their flag up there but that doesn't seem to be part of the criteria anymore.
The idea is that the moon is basically made out of the same stuff that the earth is (most disappointed to find out that its not really made from cheese). So they have plans to harvest the resources on the assumption that a lot of those resources may be precious metals.
Shame that they don't seem to have read the Time machine by H.G.Wells as the prediction is that the world will end by mining the moon (so making it lighter so it moves out of orbit which would pretty much mess up the planet).
Are we far enough off piste yet?

just realised, anyone non English reading that last line would think that they have accidentally stumbled into a non English speaking forum.

Lol The good ol BKN tangent, from wanting to be a Bookkeeper to Austin Powers, Star Wars, India claiming the moon and being beaten to death by a wookies limp and soggy end, add that to my 1 Trilllllion pound estimation of Training Link which is clearly undervalued I will need to rethink my strategy for world domination and a Death Star kicker project is just not good enough unless I could gain an interest free loan from the moon owning Indians and complete the Death Star then whats the point of it all? And all because I told a potential student to shop around. SOD that BUY BUY BUY lol
I felt we couldn't provide a particular service in a timely, cost effective manner to a potential customer and recommended an alternative provider. What do I get - a formal complaint! Now that's a first!
Maybe that why we are known down under as whinging Poms lol, your trip sounded fantastic, fascinating and I am sure rewarding, better be a giver than a taker thats my motto, well done you.
The problem with that kind of thinking Dave is that you end up with a load of unemployed givers, so i have made it my responsibility to become the greatest taker there ever was and keep you givers in employment lol.
Any of you find yourself with an abundance of giving, I'm your man, your way out, here to ease your burden.
I tried offering to take some of the owner of Xero softwares $80m off them the other day by way of a contribution to the Shamus benevolent fund of a new M3 but it appears that he does not share Dave's generosity.
What we really need is Bob Geldoff fronting our cause.
I can see the ad's "There are bankers out there still driving E46's. Look at the face of this unfortunate (close up shot of teary eyed banker, pan out to e46 between two 911's), his life doesn't have to be like that. For just £63,000 you could help one banker for a year so give us your f******g money now".
Do you think that I should start picking the colour now?
