Teach yourself Microsoft office 2010 can anyone recommend a book?
Permalink Closed

HI Everyone,

Can anyone recommend a book to teach yourself word and excel 2010 version.  I could do with knowing my way round microsoft office more on the 2010 version.  I was not too bad at 2003 version but feel I am lacking in the 2010 version that I got a few months ago.  Especially the Excel its very different to the 2003 version that I loved.  Saying that my excel skills aren't the best anyway so they could do with improving!

Many thanks,

Hi Amanda,

it's not a beginners book but if I directed you to one of those after getting used to the new ribbon in about two mins you would quickly get bored with it.

Under the hood its the same, just looks very different and takes a while to get used to things having moved.

This is the 2010 version of the book I use :

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Microsoft-Excel-2010-Analysis-Business/dp/0735643369/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1359928915&sr=8-1

I'm not sure whether the 2010 version comes with a data / practice CD where the 2007 version does.

I've had a look inside but it's the kindle version that it gives you so that wouldn't say anyway.

I wouldn't pay nearly £40 for it but put it in your bask saved for later and wait till it comes down a bit.

Shaun.

Microsoft do some guides on the differences between 2k3 and 2k10, which covers some of the new features.

The dummies guides are quite good if you want a proper book, some of it may be a bit basic but they are a good start - http://www.amazon.co.uk/Excel-2010-For-Dummies-Computers/dp/0470489537/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1359968812&sr=8-1
