Hi all,

I am now closing my financial year 31st December 2012, I have an error on sage which pops up as I complete my year end saying 'Warning your program date is outside your financial year', I have set the program date to 31/12/2012 so why is this error coming up? Also if I click OK will this cause problems later?

Help I am determinded to complete my year end today!

Stacey

I have done plenty year ends with the program date outside the financial year with no problems. (although I am not 100% guaranteeing this!)

I do change the program date now as Sage recommends it, but I have never come across sage not recognising the programme date.

if it was me, I would take two backups and run it anyway, I don't think you will have any problems, but there is probably a reason why Sage say change the program date.

I have a vague recollection that millions of years ago, (back in the earlier DOS versions) you did need to make the program date the year end date for closing down - but I don't think it's mattered for a very long time, and the warning is therefore really just a hangover.

I don't change it - even when I'm processing the year end months later (which does unavoidably happen with some of my lot), and I've not encountered any problems. But like Nick, I'm not 100% guaranteeing it. :)
