I am really keen to start up my own bookkeeping business.
I have completed AAT and I have purchased the bookcert business kit which I find very useful.
I need an experienced accountant ideal MAAT that will back me up when I have doubts and that will also confirm my experience after 1 year in order to become myself MAAT. I know nothing is free and I am ready to pay a part of my profit for this support on which we can agree / or a monthly fee. The absolute blessing will be to find someone geographically close to me as I live in Plaistow, E13 postcode.
By the way, am I allowed to write bookkeeper or AAT qualified on my business card when I start ?
Many thanks,
Adrian

Noticed a few of your posts and general questions on the forum as in how many clients are needed to be a Bookkeeper? If you are AAT quaified then it may be an idea to contact them for their rules and regulations on setting up your own practice? I noticed James from the ICB replied to your other post on how many clients, it really is about what you wish to earn, the amount of hours you wish to work and the amount you charge for your services etc. we have qualified students who have as little as four clients and this is enough for them and on the other hand we have had qualified students who are in the high end of double figures with clients but still want more, I would suggest you dont rush in and keep doing your groundwork but please contact your qualification awarding body as they will be there to help and should answer most of your questions. I may be mistaken but I am sure there is an AAT mentor who has not long joined the forum? Shaun (Shamus) will put me right on that.
