AutoGas...

Here's a new one.... talking with a new client the other day and they informed me that thier Golf has had a gas conversion so they use AutoGas as fuel. Now, as this type of fuel is nearly half the price of unleaded, and HALF the price of diesel, do we still allow 45p per mile??? :/

Ive tried looking this one up on HMRC but i get nothing... any ideas people? :D

Thanks

Gary

yes.

the 45p is not for fuel but compensation for use of the vehicle of the owner of the business. Charging per mile is just a nice handy way of doing that.

If there was an issue there would be different mileage rates for Diesel and petrol but here isn't.

Basically doesn't matter if its Autogas, Petrol, Diesel, electricity or whatever. If its a private car its 45p for the first 10k and 25p thereafter.

hope that helps,

kind regards,

Shaun.

I figured it would be shamus, diesel and petrol are close in price, but autogas is a lot less which is why I thought it may be different.

I know the 45p covers all motoring costs ins, fuel, tax etc. but with the cost is gas being lower I assumed it may be less.

Thanks for clearing that up for me! :)
